Bicycle Scheme

In 2017, Herts Welcomes Refugees set up a scheme to provide bikes to Syrian refugees. Having a bike provides freedom, exercise, and the means to travel to work or school.  Since then, over 100 donated bikes have been repaired and given to refugee children and adults throughout Hertfordshire.

Can you help in any of these ways:
  •  Donating a bike or bikes.
  •  Collecting/delivering bikes around part of the county - you specify the area.
  •  Checking/repairing bikes.
  •  Donating pumps, locks, high-vis jackets, lights or new helmets.

We also need STORAGE!

For more details, please contact Andy on Andy.Brock@hwsf.org.uk
“We delivered A his bike on Sunday. He was delighted. That afternoon the whole family went to a local park with their bikes. It was great to see them all enjoying that time together.

The bike you gave us is going to enable A to travel to local places with ease. He is very grateful. We will help him to get used to riding on the road, where necessary. Thank you for all your help and generosity and all you do.” - Community Group from North Herts
